Connecting with nature by giving nature a helping hand

Hi there! I’m Norman and I’ve been in the landscaping and gardening field for more than 22 Yrs. I have obtained a wealth of knowledge in this area. I love being nature’s helper. In fact my love and interest in gardening span all the way back to my childhood days.

As a child, I have had many wonderful experiences from creating successful vegetable gardens and having the pleasure of eating the many plants that I grew with my very own hands.

So it is my delight to share my knowledge with you so you can also have this delightful experience. We are going to learn how to give nature a helping hand.

Many people have said that in order to be successful at gardening you need a green thumb, well I have looked at a lot of successful gardeners in my time

Gardenia Flowers

including my mother in law who is very successful at gardening and I have never seen any of them walking around with a green thumb. Can you imagine how strange that would look?

So then it all comes down to knowledge. That is what makes a successful garden. Soon we will be learning and growing together.

Besides my childhood experiences, I have acquired many certifications in this field.

Some of the places where I have trained include the FNGLA out of Florida (Florida Nursery Growers Landscape Association), The Bahamas Landscape Association, LSS Training, Life Time Career School and I have also obtained my LLO. I am telling you the journey to get to this point has been great.

I have worked as a professional groundsman and interior plantscape designer at a few five-star resorts including many private homes. As a foreman on a 2-acre estate, as a nurseryman taking care of a host of garden plants both for outdoor and indoor gardens, overseeing a 3 million dollar landscape at our international airport.  I also trained in the area as a chemical applicator caring out much fieldwork. So as you can see I have been busy in this field for some time now. But the fun and the excitement does not stop here.

In the health and wellness section of this website which can be found under categories, we will be looking at natural ways and remedies for healing from foods that we grow in our home gardens. What I love about natural healing is that it can save us a whole lot of $$$$$$$ by going nature’s way of helping us to live a more productive and happy life and there is so much more.

So sit down and relax, throw your feet up and explore the many exciting topics from this website enjoying the journey that Eden’s Garden brings to your table and remember let’s connect with nature by giving nature a helping hand.

  1. Hi Norman! I’ve always wondered about tending to my own garden, having grown up with a fascination for beautiful colorful flowers. Now instead of buying fresh flowers, I want to make the most out of my free time having just shifted as a work at home mom – and finally grow my own. I look forward to more of your posts. Any tips for a newbie like me?

    • Hello Julie hope that you are having a great day, and thanks for the follow. Always start with soil that’s very important when starting a garden, i have a section on my site that deals with soil. Its always good to know the soil that you have to work with such as soil ph and soil type. You also need to know a little something about what kind of plants that you want, and how to maintain them. Its not hard its pretty easy. Just keep reading my post, its easy to follow and before you know it you will be well on your way. Thanks again and have a good day.

  2. Norman. The page you requested comments on looks great to me. Passing my cursor over the menu and looking at the number of posts I can tell you’ve been writing up a storm. I did notice on another page an internal link. We’re told those are a good idea, so congratulations on having that addressed. The whole color scheme on this page is really good. I would believe it just comes natural to you, but the colors in the pictures match up amazing with the rest of the page. I couldn’t help but wander, so I would encourage you to replace the “your website” as needed on the privacy page. Should be a quick fix. Great job.

    • Kush1000 thanks for those very kind words, glad that you like my website and thanks for the advice. Hope that you have a wonderful day.

  3. We are about to set up our garden at the house we just moved to and I think your site will be very helpful. We have had successful gardens the last two years at our old place. Before that I was not at all successful. I love growing our own food. It is such a great feeling and I am convinced it tastes better!

    • Good day nice to meet you, i am glad that i could be of help to you. Wishing you all the best of success as you continue to do your gardening. Have a great day.

  4. Hi Norman, what a gorgeous website!

Full of colour and vibrancy and with lots of top tips to help us. I’m a bit of an accidental gardener, so this will help me understand more about the plants we have and how they ‘work’.

  5. Hi Norman

I really like your site! And I can definately tell you have a wealth of knowlege in gardening field.

My wife and I have been talking about eventually getting a house that has land (the subdivisions just don’t cut it) enough to start a good garden. When we do I know just the place to come to get our gardening knowledge.

You have a great site here Norman keep up the good work.

    Much Success To You

  6. Hi Norman! what a wonderful website! I will definitely come here to get some inspiration and tips for my garden. Being a natures helper is a wonderful title. I am planning to grow some vegetables in my garden. I live in North of Norway and summers are short and there could be cold at night. What vegetables would you recommend me to grow?
