We will be looking at ways that corn can benefit us, and also at vitamins that corn contains and how a diet of corn can actually promote our health. 1. There are 800 kernels in 16 rows on each ear of corn.

2.America’s number one field crop is corn.

3.Corn seeds are the only seed that you can pop and have an instant snack.

4.Corn is grown on every continent in the world except Antarctica.

5.The main ingredient in most dry pet food is corn.

6.The corn ear is actually the part of the corn flowers.

7.There are more than 3,500 uses of corn like corn flakes, bread, peanut butter, etc…

8.Corn is used in batteries.

9.The starch in corn can be made into fabrics, plastic etc…

10.Corn is used in producing fuel.

11. Corn is considered to be a fruit, vegetable, and a grain.

Vitamin Content

Corn contains Vitamin A,  Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E, dietary fiber, manganese, phosphorus, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, beta-carotene,  potassium, fiber and magnesium

Health benefits

1. Corn can help fight cancer.

2.Corn has antioxidant.

3.Corn can help lower hypertension.

4.Corn can aid in the health of your heart.

5.Corn can aid the digestive system.

6.Corn is known to protect against lung cancer.

7.Corn can aid in weight loss.

9.The fiber in corn can aid in good bowel movement.

10. Corn can help with your cholesterol.

Final word

Corn cannot only be used for its delicious taste, but also for its healing agents, so let’s make this a part of our diet and promote our health and our well-being.

    I have always liked corn but I have never recognised the health benefits it has. Also I did not know most of those fun facts about corn, how are they used in batteries? How do the different varieties of corn differ in terms of the vitamin content, are they all the same or do they differ?

    This is Magnificent! There are some really great and Awesome facts about corn, maze, Masa . I had no idea that there was 16 rows of kernels and 800 kernels to each cob. The terminology alone is fascinating. Makes me look at corn in a whole new perspective. Not just to fill the belly either to feed the mind seems to be the objective these days.     Do you think this has got anything to do with fuel as I gather a lot of companies are switching over to this type of fuel?
    Staggering fact.

    I knew corn is good for us but had no idea it’s so beneficial. I had no idea it is grown in every continent apart from Antarctica either – Shows how much of a versatile plant this is.

    I did know about the advantages in relation to blood pressure and that’s why it is so popular.

    I always thought that corn had no nutritional value to us because our bodies have trouble breaking it down. I learned some new and interesting facts from this post. I am glad to know that eating corn has some benefit including important vitamins for our bodies as well as having antioxidant properties. tfs 🙂

    Its amazing how much bad press corn gets on a daily basis. The pros certainly do out way the cons. Its great to see all the wonderful things that nature has packed into something that has literally shaped our society and is so vital to our existence. Has science tried to capture the health benefits like they have with other “Super Foods”?

    Who knew that corn had so many nutritional qualities. I always thought that, despite being a vegetable, corn was a throw away veggie with little positive benefits…viewed more as a digestive aid than anything else. Despite that, sweet native corn in the summer is one of my favorite sides when preparing a meal for my family. My wife loves it, my kids love it, I love it and now we understand that it is healthier than we thought! Great info. Do you have any recipe ideas? We are always looking for new ones. Thanks.

    Hmmm, who would’ve known so many helpful uses for corn. This is enlightening especially since corn is not seen in the brightest of lights. I remember reading that corn wasn’t good for you etc. I never listened and continued to eat it. But this has solidified my views. Thanks for sharing!
